When Liz and Andrew were wed.

This gorgeous Big Day is what happens when two childhood sweethearts from two farming families come together – and trust me, this rural lot definitely know how to throw a party!!

Cara caught up with Liz post-wedding to find out more behind the inspiration of her epic day…

How did you both meet?

Well my Granny had us lined up long before we met as our Grandparents were good friends from the local chapel. But we didn’t meet until I joined Alberbury Young Farmers Club and Andy helped me carry some boxes from my car- what a knight in shining armour! We started going out when I was 17 and got married over 10 years later – it’s safe to say it took Andy a while to pluck up the courage and ask me!

What was your inspiration behind the styling on the day?

We both love the outdoors and I particularly love flowers so I wanted there to be lots of flowers involved in the day: we had edible flower cocktails, a wildflower meadow, the vicar had a floral stole, the church and yurt were full of flowers and the bridesmaids wired fresh flowers to their own hair-combs to wear on the day! The yurt was such a beautiful structure and felt very natural and relaxed which is how we wanted the guests to feel on the day.

Favourite detail?

The cricket bat table plan looked stunning and was really easy to make! Andy’s cricket team donated most of the bats and we screwed them to some old pallets, sanded them down and then got a local printer to print the stickers.

Favourite moment?

It’s hard to pick one but probably the first dance which wasn’t practised at all but involved Andy throwing me around the dance floor as we attempting some sort of spontaneous Strictly-inspired routine!
